Long Forms: 37/38 and 39/40 Casting Cycles

Everyone who applies to Survivor wants the same thing: to make it to the next step. Below are the long‑form applications I received during two different casting cycles — 37/38 and 39/40.

The “39/40” label has always been interesting to me, because Season 40 became Winners at War. Casting already knew exactly who they needed for that season, so the form feels more like a snapshot of the era than a true path to the island.

I’ve talked before — in my book and in earlier posts — about how these long forms ended up in my hands, so I won’t repeat that here.

I’m not sure whether seeing these helps anyone prepare or not. But if you’re curious, here they are.
